BCBS Producer Recontracting

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) is rolling out a new standard Producer Agreement and using an electronic recontracting system to save time and costs associated with paper forms, hard copy mailings and file maintenance. The process can be fairly complicated in certain circumstances.

All producers and agency principals are required to sign the new contract. The online system is easy to use and the process will only take a few minutes. You can view, print, or download contract documents for your records. BCBS will make application decisions within a few days.

Planned Communications via Email

Producers and agency principals will first receive an email from BCBSTX containing recontracting details, FAQs, next steps and a recontracting how-to guide. Within days, they receive a second email with the recontracting “invitation” — a producer-specific link that launches the process. Note that producers who signed the new agreement during last summer’s BCBSTX recontracting initiative won’t receive these emails. Those producers are already working under the new contract.
