UHC: Oct-Dec Transitional Relief Groups Can Move to Jan 1, 2018 Anniversary

On Feb 23, 2017, CMS extended Transitional Relief for small employers through 2018.

CMS is expected to issue another extension next year (fourth extension). However, if they do not, all non-grandfathered with non-compliant plans will be required to move to an ACA-compliant, community rated plan by Jan 1, 2019.

UHC will allow groups with Oct-Dec 2017 renewal dates to request an early renewal for Jan 1, 2018. If CMS does not issue an extension beyond 2018, moving to a Jan anniversary cycle will maximize the time affected employers can avoid the plan change.

If any clients are interested in reviewing Jan 1, 2018 renewal pricing, notify your Kilpatrick service team member as soon as possible.

UHC requires groups to sign an attestation form and return it by Dec 1, 2017 to process the change.
